Role: Production Apprentice Location: Noida Department: Food Production / Kitchen Operations Purpose: To assist in the preparation of vegetables/fruits by performing cleaning, peeling, and cutting tasks as per the required specifications, ensuring hygiene, safety, and speed in support of food production operations. Key Accountabilities: Production Area: • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables/fruits according to the production requirement and standard cutting styles (dicing, slicing, julienne, etc.). • Ensure correct portioning and minimize wastage during cutting. • Follow daily prep schedules as directed by the kitchen/production supervisor. • Keep cutting area, utensils, and tools clean and sanitized before, during, and after work. • Segregate spoiled or poor-quality produce and report to the supervisor. • Ensure proper storage of cut vegetables as per guidelines (cold storage, covered trays, FIFO method, etc.). • Assist in cleaning workstations and equipment after the shift ends. • Support kitchen in pre-preparation tasks beyond vegetable cutting when required (e.g., handling garnishes, cleaning work surfaces). Safety Promotion & Hygiene: • Adhere to all personal hygiene and food safety protocols (hand washing, gloves, hairnets, apron, etc.). • Use knives and cutting tools safely; report any cuts or injuries immediately. • Maintain cleanliness of cutting boards, knives, and containers to prevent contamination. • Follow food-grade standards (like FSSAI/GHP) to ensure safe handling of raw materials. • Report any pests, contamination risks, or unsafe practices to the supervisor immediately. Qualifications: • Diploma – Food Technology/Food Production/Food Processing/Food and Beverage • Must understand basic food hygiene practices and cleanliness norms • Ability to follow instructions and maintain discipline in the work environment Skills & Competencies: • Good hand coordination and speed in vegetable cutting • Awareness of hygiene and cleanliness • Ability to work on foot for long hours • Team player and cooperative attitude • Basic knowledge of different vegetable cutting techniques is a plus • Must be alert, careful, and physically fit to handle daily production volume
